Caption contest for March 1!

CAPTION CONTEST, Week 9 - you probably guessed I'd do something like this! How would YOU caption this picture? Comment below! The same pic will show on Facebook and here at The World of Wombat. I'll repost the pic with my favorite caption on Friday. (As always, no prizes, other than the glory/infamy of being chosen.)

Week 8 winner!

Congratulations to this week’s Caption Contest winner, author and fellow Baylor lawyer Lyn Robbins! So many great entries this week – and the most entries yet! – but Lyn’s hit the right note (get it?) with his dig at my singing hobby.

Honorable Mentions: Melody O'Grady: “Now THAT'S a photobomb.”; David Wilmoth: “OK, viewing Mount Rushmore just dropped off the bucket list!”; and Steven Jones’ simple: “Monumental fail.”

Week 7 winner!

Congratulations to this week’s Caption Contest winner Darren Grabowski  -- our first two-time champ! In case you’re not a Disney nut like us, the caption is an “elephant” twist on the Spanish part of a standard Walt Disney World monorail announcement, “Please stand clear of the doors; Por favor, manténgase alejado de los puertas.”

By the way, the caption I had in mind was: “Brad fails to keep his arms and legs inside of the vehicle at all times.” :-)

Honorable Mentions: Dennis Walker (to whose lovely wife Jeanell I delivered a Singing Valentine yesterday!): “Come on, Mickey! It's my turn. You've been on long enough, besides I have a FastPass!”; Lisa Lavelle (echoing what Disney cast members hear every day): “Stop the Ride, I didn't get a pic of me with Mickey yet, and my Vacation will be RUINED without it!!!!!”; And Brandon Randall – elegant in its simplicity: “AHHHHHHHHHHH”!

Week 6 winner!

Congratulations to this week's Caption Contest winner, my mom Gail Randall, who still refuses to get her own Facebook account and posts under my dad C.s. Randall's, in spite of her using it tons more than he does!

Honorable Mentions: Sandy Graetz (who I'm guessing is the only Port Acres, Texas, native living on the island of Tasmania): "Hmm, let me see if I can even things up in this game!" and Doug Hook: "Was that the black wire the boss said to never touch....." And a -- well, its not an Honorable Mention; its just a Mention -- to Jill Grabowski, who quoted nine lines of lyrics from Schoolhouse Rock's song about Electricity as her suggested caption. I just didn't know what to do with that.

Week 5 winner!

Congratulations to this week’s Caption Contest winner, celebrated author Rob ‘Diesel’ Kroese, from whom I stole this whole caption contest idea. Seriously, he’s a funny guy, and you owe it to yourself to read his books. Check out his website http://robertkroese.com or his Amazon page, http://www.amazon.com/Robert-Kroese/e/B003PEDI66/.

Honorable Mentions: my cousin-in-law Sean Mann: “Brad visits the UN human rights commission”; Darren Grabowski: “Everyone was all smiles until Ralph Fiennes took the ‘pull my finger’ challenge...” and Lisa Lavelle “Did you get a Broomstick Violation? Call Me, and join these Satisfied Clients! 1-800-WOM-BATT”.

By the way, Darren is our all-time points leader with a win in week 2 and three consecutive Honorable Mentions since then!
